The goal of this poster is to invite college students to AIGA’s design week; the target audience would be Flagler College students or people interested in graphic design. The typeface used for the main title ‘Kismet’ is inspired by the constellations and astrology, so the design had to complement the font. Kismet means fate or destiny, so the purpose of the poster is to symbolize that it’s the viewer’s fate or destiny to attend design week. The overall feel of the poster is dreamy because it has stars all over as well as illustrative lines weaving around the page. The monochromatic blue theme was chosen to pay homage to other classic astrology prints, many of them use a blue background with white/gold stars to represent the constellations. The layout on the back of the poster follows hierarchical order but creates a little erraticness that catches the viewers’ attention.
